The New Girl.

I am so over-the-moon excited to announce that, a couple of weeks ago, I accepted a position at Children's Hospital Central California. (Because my life hasn't experienced enough change as of late, obviously.)

My official title is (deep breath intake) Critical Care Administrative Support Coordinator. It sounds pretty fancy but, realistically, the position encompasses a crazy layer of busy and chaos in assisting the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) department heads. CCHC is a bit of a gem here in Central California, with its notoriety stemming from its amazing staff and services. The NICU department alone is a Regional and Level III unit, the highest ranking possible for such a specialty.

I've just completed the copious amounts of paperwork, background checks, blood-drawing and medical-clearance-ing, and I am slated to begin work next Monday.

This new position is a huge step in the right direction for achieving my career goals. As a Health Administration major, I'm also really excited to gain professional experience to apply to my coursework. Theories are becoming practice, and hypothetical situations are turning into real ones.

Tomorrow is my last day with my current organization. Resigning from my position in the education arena has been a mixture of difficult and bittersweet woven together with anxiety and sadness. I have no doubts that the past six years with the agency have prepared me to enter this new professional arena with a sharpened skillset and the confidence needed to thrive.

Let the learning curve and culture shock begin!
